The Saukenauk Preservation Society was founded in November of 2003 by a group of local scouts who spent their youth at Saukenauk Scout Reservation. This group of scouts felt the obligation to give back to a camp that had given them the best experiences of their lives. They also felt the need to establish a way to raise money for Camp Saukenauk above and beyond what the local council provided to make it better for future generations of scouts and scouters.
The Saukenauk Preservation Society became incorporated in August of 2006 and was declared a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization by the IRS on April 18th, 2010. Through tax exempt, charitable donations we raise funds for various programs and activities at Camp Saukenauk. We also donate funds towards the construction and maintenance of new and existing facilities at camp. Lastly, we continue to grow the camp endowment to ensure Saukenauk Scout Reservation will continue to offer exemplary scouting experiences to youth in the Quincy community and surrounding areas.
